These rules have been borrowed from Wormrose and lightened up a little. Your comments would be appreciated. We need consensus.

Our games will allow two days for us to make a move, or we will not accept the challenge. Acceptance needs to be under control of an Admin. Games need to be started at a time that will work for an Admin or Team Leader as below in point 5, to watch for tied votes and make the final move.
The first 24 hrs is for the suggesting and discussion of moves.

As a general rule we ask everyone to hold their votes until the final 24 hours of our turn, to allow plenty of time for discussion/analysis.

There is nothing in the chess.com vote chess system to prevent a person from voting earlier than 24 hours. There are, however, two rules we need you to follow:

a) Please do not post a comment indicating that you have already voted, prior to the 24 hour mark

b) We also ask that you not encourage others to vote early by posting the actual vote count prior to 24 hours remaining.

3. Voting is to be confined to those moves which are being discussed.

analysis diagrams are encouraged.
the best move should be shown in bold type if not the only move listed on the post.
You may vote for any move, as long as you tell us about it first!
if you find a game without any discussion with 24 hours or less on the clock bring the matter to attention by an Admin and start the discussion by leaving a post with time remaining, and your suggestion for next move.

4. In the event that you must vote early because you will not be available to take part in the discussion, it is ok to vote but do not post a comment about your vote so as to encourage others to vote that way.

Why?

Many vote chess players are drive by voters; their votes can mess up the voting for making the best move. When they see a comment for a certain move, usually the last comment made up to that point, they vote for that move without taking a good look at the position, and as a result the wrong move could cost us the game.

5. we also need an Admin (or team leader) assigned to each game, to keep close eye on the last few hours so as not to time out with "no vote" or "tied vote" ..this person should be the one to post current vote totals in the last 24 hour period & withhold his / her vote until as late as possible so as to avoid these situations.

6. Respect Your Teammates

If you see a bad move or blunder being suggested by a teammate please be courteous and respectful in your appraisal of the move. Personal attacks, flame wars, etc., will not be tolerated. Keep the language clean.

7. Chess Engines

Chess engines are not allowed in our vote chess games. Referencing archived computer games or analysis is also not allowed. Please refrain from mentioning computer analysis in our vote chess forums.
