I started playing chess online In August of '22, but I only started playing more seriously in January of 2023, my goal this year is to reach 1400 Rapid rated. Also my favorite chess player and commentator is Daniel Naroditsky, my favorite chess streamer is Hikaru (sorry Gotham fans), and the greatest player of all time has to be Magnus Carlsen. 

Ok so This is an update after 3 months of playing chess more seriously. Since I started playing chess again at the begining of Jauary until now my rating has gone from 570 to 970. I am going to make a timeline of my goal and it's completion giving updates every three months.

Alrighty so tough three months, only gaining 104 elo. :/ but on the bright side, I played my first otb tournament on June 3rd, and got a chess coach, both of which have improved my chess logic greatly and I anticipate a big boost of elo coming ( I can feel it in my bones. lol) The  sad thing about these three months is that I hit my peak elo of 1097 in April, and then proceeded to tilt to 950, and slowly fight my way back. But I think I'm coming back stronger than ever, so I'm excited for what the summer will bring.

Welp after 3 more months I played 2 more otb tournaments and hit a peak rating online of 1249, on a little tilt right now, but I'm not too concerned. 

Hard times, I failed to study hard for these three months and it shows, the hihest rating in rapid i achieved was 1267. :/ A couple cool things about these last few months of the year though: I improved my Bullet rating by 488 rating points! I went from 629 to 1117 in just three months! I also gained 355 puzzle elo and ended the year with a career high 2465 puzzle rating! I ended the year with a USCF provisional rating of 828 after three tournaments played. For my first year in chess I am happy with what I've learned, the friends I've made, and the small accomplishments I have achieved! Can't wait for 2024!
