Hello! I am FM Trung Nguyen and I have been playing chess competitively for 14 years and
have been coaching for 7 years. I have participated in over 300 USCF rated tournaments
and have won many titles, including 3 VA State titles, 1 VA State Blitz title, 1 National Blitz
Title, and a Gold Medal at the Pan-American Chess Championships in Peru. I hold the FIDE
Master title and the USCF National Master and Life Master titles and was a member of the
All-American Team. My USCF Rating is 2286 and my USCF Blitz Rating is 2250. I am also the
Vice President and Treasurer of the William and Mary Chess Club and the Captain and
Coach of the Varsity E-sports Chess Team which just won the National Title. Apart from
Chess, I play and teach the piano, go fishing, and play tennis. Being mostly self-taught and
coached by my father for the majority of my chess career, I understand what it takes to
become a strong chess player and I am looking forward to working with you.
