Victoria Winifred was born in Brooklyn, and is the author of the award-winning middle-grade chess mythological fantasy, “The Princess, the Knight, and the Lost God: A Chess Story.” She continues to write and will release two new chess fiction books for kids by the end of 2023.

She taught elementary school for 16 years, including a gifted program in New York City for a decade. Her favorite additional accreditation is her Chess in Education graduate certificate from The University of Texas at Dallas, which provided the justification to connect her lessons to chess at every opportunity, and to flood her classroom with the game, much to the delight and academic success of her students. Victoria is a Chess.com Affiliate, an active member of the Author’s Guild of Tennessee, and SCBWI Midsouth.
